Is fear of the future depressing you? The Lord would reassure you, ‘Have I not told you that I will be with you always? Days of trouble are no exception. On the contrary, then I will be closer to you than ever before. If the hardship is seven times greater, My help will be seven times greater. During the hardest days I will come with even larger numbers of angels to help you. You can rely upon this.’

The greater the hardship, the closer God is, and the mightier His help.

No one has to remain in misery — no one who brings his troubles, worries and needs to the Lord and counts on His help. You will receive help from the Father in so far as you expect and trust Him to give it to you.

You think that, when disaster strikes, you will be completely at the mercy of the forces of destruction. But God’s Word tells us differently. It says, ‘When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles … Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.’ So take care that you belong to the ‘righteous’ who, having been made right with God through the blood of Jesus, live according to the commandments of God. Then God’s promise of special help and protection is yours. (Psalm 34:17-20)

It will come from the God who made heaven and earth and who is the help of His chosen ones. Look away from all the perils here on earth; look to Him who has power to help in every situation. Your heart will then be transformed. You will become strong and confident. Fear and despair will yield. (Psalm 121:1-2)
