A nuclear war, with its accompanying fall-out, devastation and trauma, would be the end of everything — or so people conclude. Those who belong to God, however, have His promise of help even for such times: ‘Our God is a God of salvation; and to God, the Lord, belongs escape from death.’ As the Prince of Life, Jesus is stronger than all the powers of destruction and can rescue us from death in miraculous ways. But should He at such a time choose to call us home, He will lead us gently through the gate of death, for His very presence overcomes the power of death. (Psalm 68:20)
