There is Someone who knows about our worries. He sees every anxious thought that crosses our minds. Knowing what pain anxiety causes, He wants to help. He promises to care for us. Could anything be better? He wants to deal with our worries; to smooth a path where we can no longer see one; to transform unbearable circumstances in His own way; and to send help. Cast your cares upon your heavenly Father. Thank Him in advance for sending help in your difficulties, and your heart will be filled with peace.

The grandeur of creation proclaims the greatness of God. But greater than His glory as the Creator is the fact that He is a father. He cares for His children lovingly. Not even your smallest troubles escape His notice.

You have been wronged. Your heart is wounded. You want your name to be cleared and others to apologize. You keep brooding over the situation. Remember, there is Someone who sees what has been done to you: God, who sees everything. Someone knows what it means to suffer injustice: Jesus. But the Father vindicated Jesus by causing Him to rise in splendour as victor over all His enemies.
 
The psalmist’s words hold good for you too: ‘Thou hast maintained my just cause; thou hast sat on the throne giving righteous judgment.’ Commit your cause to God. Let Him vindicate you. He will do so, because He is your loving Father, who cares for you. But you have to play your part. Do not try to avenge yourself. Pray that bitterness does not gain room in your heart. ‘Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you’ is what the Lord is saying to you. You are to learn to love your enemies. (Psalm 9:4, Luke 6:27)

In view of the time of testing to come upon the earth, God the Father is now waiting for people who will trust Him implicitly. They are the ones who will experience in peril and hardship that He is faithful, in keeping with His promise: ‘I will never fail you nor forsake you.’ They will experience His special love and care in the coming time of trouble. (Hebrews 13:5)

Times of need reveal what kind of relationship we have with our heavenly Father. Such periods show whether we have been setting our hope on people and circumstances or whether we have really been trusting in God. Failure to have learnt genuine trust in God the Father makes the hard days harder. Yet it is in these times that the Father calls us back to Himself. It may be His last offer of grace. Thus it is a decisive moment when we reach the end of our confidence in people and circumstances. Then a door opens for us: repentance. If we repent of our self-sufficiency, acknowledging our sin of separating ourselves from God, we will have access to the Father’s love, care and help.

In Scripture you have the promise of God’s fatherly love. When worries loom up like mountains before you, say to yourself again and again, “The Father cares. He cares.” God will take care of everything as only perfect love can do, planning every detail with divine power and wisdom. Let this knowledge be turned into praise. When you thank Him for caring for you, your heart will be filled with comfort and peace.
