God Himself tells us that He delights in doing His children good. However, He often has to wait until we are ready to receive the good things; otherwise we would trample them underfoot, so to speak. First He has to prepare us so that we are able to receive His good gifts in the right spirit; only then will they bring us true joy and blessing. Instead of being defiant when having to wait, let us willingly accept God’s chastening, which is preparing us to receive His good gifts properly. Then we will receive them more quickly. When God can grant His gifts partly depends on us. (Jeremiah 32:41)
