Does the prospect of the use of nuclear weapons make you afraid? How do you overcome this fear? — By filling your thoughts with the love of God the Father. Whoever considers His love will be comforted. God always finds a way to help and protect, even in the greatest affliction. For instance, He can command fire not to burn. Remember the angel sent to help Daniel’s friends in the fiery furnace. God declares He will be with His children in their distress — a promise valid for all times. He says, ‘When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.’ God will be near you in times of acute distress and will help you. May this comforting assurance sustain you (Isaiah 43:2).
