You long to come closer to God. You long for that deep intimacy with your heavenly Father. But you do not know how to attain this. Why not? You must be avoiding that which would bring you closer to God. It is through our cross that we draw nearer to God. Whoever embraces his cross lovingly will be united with Jesus and the Father. But whoever flees the cross, whoever protests against it in his heart, flees from God and is separated from Him.
