Do you find the burden God has laid upon you too heavy to bear? Perhaps the reason is that you do not bear it willingly step by step. Time and again you weigh it in your hands, wondering whether you can bear it at all. That way you never will. Such deliberations will just make you self-pitying — and the burden unbearable. Shoulder your cross willingly, and you will discover that you can bear it. It comes from the Father’s hands. He has weighed it for you in love. So it can never be too heavy.
