God is love. Whoever loves has to be with the beloved, especially when the beloved is in distress, as we know from the Bible: ‘I will be with him in trouble.’ The Lord is present when the need is greatest — when, for example, wars flare up. He will surround us on all sides, protecting us from the advancing terrors. This the Almighty can do. (Psalm 91:15; 125:2)
