Our Lord Jesus Christ has obtained for us the tremendous status: to be sons and daughters of God, our Father in heaven. Because of our sonship the Father bestows His inheritance upon us. Like the father in the parable of the prodigal son, He says, “All that is Mine is yours.” (Luke 15:31) Even here on earth He lets His children share in His power and His possessions. And one day, when they have grown to full maturity, reflecting the image of Jesus, they will inherit everything in the Father’s kingdom.
 
Right now, however, you may be a pauper, sitting in rags. You are complaining about all the things you do not have and are feeling miserable. But isn’t it perhaps your own fault that you are spiritually impoverished and have so many needs? Are you not availing yourself of the inheritance which is yours? Your needs would be supplied and you would be richly blessed if you would only hold out your hands in faith. Try it out – the Father in heaven is waiting!
