Because God is love and because He loves you, His heart longs for your love in return. In spirit He shows you His only-begotten Son, who for love of us gave up all that was dear to Him. Now God is asking how you have thanked Him and what you have given up for His sake. Do not just give the Lord gifts that have been entrusted to you. Give Him your very self, your freedom, your wishes and desires, your whole heart and life. Such a sacrifice will bind you to God, uniting you with Him. Then you will have found the greatest treasure in heaven and on earth, and you will be a truly happy person.
