The prophet Jeremiah declares that God ‘is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him’ (Lamentations 3:25). Because the heavenly Father is love, it is His nature to show goodness. Though it might not always seem so at first, everything He sends us is a token of His goodness. Believe that God the Father has your well-being at heart. As a loving Father, God can show His children only kindness. This goes for all His leadings, including His disciplinary measures. Through chastening He brings us release from sin, which not only causes us misery but also keeps us from being happy and secure in His love during the storms of life.
