Restoring the broken
Out of the ruins of World War II, God brought our community to life: a living example that His love can heal wounds, restore the broken and build up something new. Our founders, Mother Basilea Schlink and Mother Martyria Madauss, were convinced of this all along. For this they lived and suffered, prayed and believed.
Looking back we see how true it is that God is gracious. Every broken piece of our lives that we bring to Him is used to build new bridges. That was how our ministry of reconciliation began. It focuses primarily on God’s Covenant People Israel, who suffered the worst persecution from Christians down through the centuries, culminating in the Nazi era in Germany. More recently, our ministry of reconciliation has expanded to include Eastern Europe. Our branches in Australia and South America have been able to reach out to the indigenous peoples there, among whom the past has left deep wounds.

We need to go to the indigenous people, and in the love of Jesus tell them how sorry we are.

Our Sisters in Brazil were led to extend their ministry of reconciliation to the large indigenous population of Brazil.
